She was extremely helpful and responsive, and she provided plenty of recommendations for places and things to do in the area prior to and during our stay. I can’t wait to rent from her again, as Dunedin is quickly becoming a family favorite.

We stayed a few days in Karen's unit #5, then decided to stay a few more days! We moved across the courtyard to #2, and let me just say, it... read more was as nice or nicer than #5!! I would stay in any one of her units at the "Maitai Suites-Clearwater-Dunedin" ❤️.
I loved the decor in each one, and even found the bedding from #2 online and bought it for our newly remodeled home!!!

Our stay was lovely. This unit offered many amenities, was close to the beach and the downtown area, and best of all it allowed us to bring our dogs and... read more have easy access to outdoor space for them. The only thing that was slightly uncomfortable was the A/C settings. Whenever we returned, the unit was uncomfortably warm and I felt like the ceiling fans did not do much to help. Fortunately, a box fan was provided which helped us cool down quicker and be able to sleep through the night. We will likely be returning to this rental next summer as well!

Ever since we had a dog we were used to compromise on the properties that we were renting, but not this time. Everything was as pictured and in sparkling clean... read more condition. This property was exactly what we saw online. The location was great, restaurants, beach, stores in walking distance. Karen was very responsive to the any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely rent from her again.

We loved our stay at MaiTai Suites in Dunedin. The place was clean, beautiful and very conveniently located! Karen was a fabulous host! Her attention to every detail was perfection!... read more Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were wonderful and smelled delicious! Her guide made everything easy, from running the appliances to finding something fun to do! She checked in with us often and made sure we had everything we needed! We loved Honeymoon Island, and having a pass included with our accommodations was very thoughtful!

We stayed for 10 nights in Mai Tai #5 and everything was exactly as advertised. Host communication was excellent and we really appreciated the pass to beautiful Honeymoon Island just... read more down the causeway...We used it at least 5 times! We had everything we needed to be very comfortable during our stay. Appliances are really nice. Bonus, we could easily walk to some great restaurants. The single level was convenient with our dog, and parking was super easy. Would stay again!

We stayed at Mai Tai Suites #5 for several nights in October 2022. The place is totally updated with all new appliances and totally comfortable. It is very dog... read more friendly as well. Karen was quick to answer our questions. Great location and includes a pass to Honeymoon Island State Park which has great beaches. Easy walk to bars and restaurants. The Pinellas Trail is close by. It is an easy five minute drive to downtown Dunedin. All in all, great place!

Everything about Karen's Honeymoon Isle airbnb was fantastic! The place was easy to find and the check in was easy. The apartment was just as described and is tastefully decorated... read more with plentyofamenities. The helpful tips and information provided by Karen were the best! Karen was always reachable when there were questions. The area is wonderful with plenty to see and do!
We will definitely be returning.

This is an HONEST review, not personal for how I’ve been treated by the host, just pure honesty.
I’ll start out by saying that our stay wasn’t... read more a 5 star visit, they only want you to make 5 star reviews and keep the other reviews private. That’s not how it works in business. Future guests need to see what they are getting into before booking and the host needs to realize that they need to satisfy and give the right accommodations for the guests.
Check-in was smooth, we appreciated the fact that she let us come a day early too. A few days before coming I asked what code we are supposed to use to get into the room and her response was “Everything you need to know is in the guestbook” so I was like ok, could’ve just told me instead of making me click a link to search through the thing.
So the first night was fine. We slept well because we just drove all the way from Virginia so no amount of discomfort would disrupt our sleep. The second night comes, across the street is a bar. I’m thinking about our dogs and how she said 10pm is quiet time. Why put a rule on your guests when the noisy bar across the street defeats the purpose? Also, if you don’t allow kids then why do you literally have kid toys in the closet next to the bathroom? Anyways, during the second night I started to notice how ultra firm the mattress is, didn’t think much of it so I fell asleep, I wake up along with my wife several times tossing and turning. We just dealt with it. I then wake up sweating, I go out to the thermostat which is a Nest thermostat and noticed it’s locked at a minimum temp of 70 degrees. I remembered her saying everything I need to know is in the guestbook provided. I looked at the section that talks about the Nest and it said that the temp minimum is 70 because if it goes lower than 70 it will freeze the coils and will have to be repaired. So I figured that was that so I found no use in talking to her about it.
Another night passes, same night but we both developed back pains. Not much more to say there, another night, same thing. I messaged her the next day thinking there was something I was missing like if we were using a sleep number bed and didn’t know it so I asked her if she had an egg crate we could put on the bed just to find out anything about it. Her response was “this is the first COMPLAINT and that other guest rave about how comfortable it is”. So I said “ok I’ll just deal with it”. It was her duty to offer a solution instead of saying “sleep on the other bed that has the same firmness” not my duty to ask for a solution. She is the host!
Nothing else is said to her til we check out because I felt as is she was defensive against her property and didn’t take responsibility and I wanted to have a good two final days of no drama.
Some other complaints that were brought to her attention after we checked out is the lack of privacy with the bathroom door. It’s a sliding door with about an inch or more gap around the perimeter. You can hear everything going on inside the bathroom and outside it. She totally ignored that when I brought it up. Not a 5 star feature
Her expectations of keeping our dogs quiet with no privacy fence while we walked them out in the open where they see humans they don’t know and dogs doing what dogs normally do and bark at them after 10 pm was inconvenient, we had to constantly remind our dogs to not bark. Again with the bar across the street making noise way after 10 pm defeats the purpose.
Assigning parking spots is sort of understandable in some cases but instead of assigning to each unit they should say “for Mai Thai suite guests only” Unit 4 guests ended up taking our spot on night 4 so I just said heck with it and parked where ever I wanted. Don’t assign spots to units. Some prefer far end spots.
She and I talked about the bed and she said that that if we would’ve said something during our first night she would’ve amazoned an egg crate in. I would’ve appreciated that but after the future convo we had with her I now feel like she was just saying that and that I wouldn’t have happened anyways. Even if she amazoned one in after we brought it to her attention on the later date and even if it didn’t arrive in time I would have had more respect in the fact that she tried. But nothing…
I did have a conversation with her after we checked out and she was very rude. I told her the problems we had and she said
“ You are just going to sound like a crybaby of you post the complaints”
“Remember that reviews go both ways”
When I brought up the AC problem she responds with “we own many rentals in the state of Florida and we have fixed ALMOST all the units”. Yeah, well ALMOST isn’t 100% of them. That was her last response since then.
I’m disappointed, this was my wife’s and my first Airbnb experience and it started out great but ended up really bad and it mostly comes from how Karen handled communication with us. She was disrespectful, uncaring and irresponsible in the end.
If she wants 5 star reviews all the time she needs to hear the bad reviews and fix the problems for the future.
1 of 5 stars would NOT recommend.

Yikes! If you are looking to encounter many issues on your vacation, stay here..
After booking she requested more money - payment outside Airbnb- and said Airbnb made... read more and error and had the wrong price listed. I said I wasn’t paying more than what was advertised and she eventually “waived” the additional fee.
The place is covered with aints, she said it’s an issue at all florida rentals, however I’ve stayed at many, including one right before hers and one right after hers in the same location and didn’t have this issue.
Next her lights are smart lights and in the middle of the night they randomly turned on 3 times. Not a huge issue just annoying.
There was some fridge issues - it starts beeping and needs to be reset in order to stop it. And in our case would start beeping in the middle of the night lol.
In our booking we entailed 2 adults and 2 children and she accepted the booking. She also asked who was staying and I told her 2 adults & 2 kids -> after leaving she came at me and said children are not allowed in the unit ? And withheld our deposit. Funny she didn’t mention that prior to staying. She also has all kinds of beach toys for kids in her unit so I’m not sure who those are for if no children are allowed in the unit.
She also accused my son of using a marker underneath her nightstand. I informed her we have zero markers or anything to color with on us. I asked her if it was possible it was already there or if she had markers in her unit my son perhaps found in her unit and she denied.
I strongly feel she was just trying to come up with something to keep our deposit unfortunately.

Everything was awesome! Stayed here with 3 other friends. The beds are big and comfy, the TVs have all streaming platforms, and the kitchen appliances are very nice. The area... read more is very nice and there’s a great bar/grill just across the street. Definitely recommend!
