Things To Do In Dunedin
Introduction
Some of my favorite things to do is paddle boarding and visiting Honeymoon Island State Park . Renting Bikes to tour the Pinellas Trail is also an option for the more active visitor.
Visit Caladesi State Park
Whether it is a stroll along the island’s pristine beaches or a kayak trip through the bayside mangrove forest, a trip to Caladesi Island is an unforgettable experience.
Take a nature trail walk to the historic Scharrer Homestead through the island’s interior and listen to the ocean breeze whisper through old-growth slash pines and feel the embrace of expansive live oaks.
Discover why homesteader Myrtle Scharrer Betz called this place “Paradise” in her memoirs.
The park is open from 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.
Admission
- $6 per boat (up to eight people); $2 each additional person.
- $2 per kayaker.

Pineallas Trail
Access in downtown Dunedin 3 miles away
One of Florida’s most popular and unique urban pathways, the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail stretches from St. Petersburg north to Tarpon Springs and on to the Pasco County line for a total of 50 miles. Eventually, the Pinellas Trail is planned to expand into a 75-mile loop throughout Pinellas County. Part of that growing effort is the 4-mile Duke Energy Trail on the east side of the peninsula.
Opened in 1996, the Pinellas Trail connects some of the most highly urbanized areas of the county with parks, scenic coastal areas and residential neighborhoods, making it an important facility for both transportation and health on Florida’s west coast. The pathway is named after Fred Marquis, a former Pinellas County administrator whose efforts supported its early development.

Honeymoon Island State Park
Most beautiful beaches, dog beach, bird watching, and sunsets
8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year
Admission
- $8 per vehicle (limit eight people).
- $4 single-occupant vehicle.
- $2 pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.
- $4 per vehicle: Sunset fee, starting one hour prior to park closing
One of Florida’s best-loved state parks, Honeymoon Island has more than four miles of beach to explore along with a three-mile trail through one of the last remaining virgin slash pine forests.
When looking skyward, eagles, osprey and great horned owls can be seen, while ground animals include gopher tortoises, raccoons and armadillos.
A trip to the Rotary Centennial Nature Center helps visitors learn about the park’s history and natural resources. Find out how Honeymoon Island received its name!

Play Golf At TheDunedin Golf Club
The club is just a 6 minute drive from Mai Tai Suites
Golf Course Open 7am to Dark Monday – Sunday
Open to the Public
Designed by world renowned golf course architect Donald Ross, the club opened January 1, 1927. From 1945 through 1962, Dunedin Golf Club was the home of the PGA of America. During that time we hosted 18 Senior Tour Championships, and this was the beginning of the Senior PGA Tour. Back then, the PGA and PGA Tour of today were the same corporation.
In 2006 and 2007 our facility went through a major restoration with rebuilding of our greens, tees and bunkers. It’s been restored to nearly the same as when legendary golf architect Donald Ross first drew up Dunedin Golf Club on the drafting table. Today, Dunedin Golf Club is one of the top clubs in the Tampa Bay area.

7venth Sun Brewery Dunedin
7venth Sun Brewery Dunedin Tap room downtown Dunedin
The Dunedin location held its grand opening on January 7, 2012. The brewery started in a 600 ft storefront and eventually expanded to the neighboring business in late 2013. The current 1,200-square-foot brewery features 10 taps, ample outdoor seating, a 3.5-barrel system, and 7 barrel fermenters. A majority of 7venth Sun’s saisons and lagers are produced at this facility.
There were a lot of challenges producing beer in such a confined area, but starting with small batches proved serendipitous as it allowed the creation of a wide variety of styles – an extremely liberating change from the large production brewery setting.

Clearwater Beach
Visit Beautiful Clearwater Beach For the Day 15 minute car ride from Dunedin. Aside from the beautiful beach there is also jet skiing, para sailing and charter boat fishing to be had at the Clearwater Municipal Marina. If you think you would like to try some deep sea fishing I recommend 2 C’s Fishing Charter.
I also have vacation rental condo in Clearwater Beach, not on the beach however across the street with the gulf in the back.
